Moggie moorhen
Today our walk took us around the historical town of Thetford. We started off on the banks of the Little Ouse river where we spotted this moorhen looking for food, further along the bank we see another one sitting on a nest, we carry on along the river bank and Mr PC spotted a female Egyptian goose with her gosling brood.
We leave the river and cross the park and come across the statue of Arthur Lowe (Captain Mainwaring from Dads Army.).
Our next stop is the magnificent ruins of St Mary’s Priory, and a good spot for a well earned coffee and cake break. Leaving the Priory Stanley ( a new blip spotter) gets excited and we spot a Muntjac in the undergrowth (native to South East Asia) so what are they doing in Norfolk?.
We enter the park and walk towards the castle earthworks, neither of us felt fit enough to climb the steps to the top.
We leave the park again and retrace our steps back to the car.
All in all a lovely day and 5 miles walked.
