100 ABSTRACTS - NUMBER 34 - SILLY SATURDAY TOO!
Hello Lovely Blippers,
We all know that Mrs. HCB is doing a 100 Abstract Challenge for the Mamie Martin Fund, that enables young women and girls to have a secondary education in North Malawi. Today she was just going to do an abstract of her cushions, but we got wind of it and before she knew it, we were on the chair in her Quiet Room and waiting for her when she came upstairs.
If she thought that she was going to do an abstract without us being in it on Silly Saturday, we had a surprise for her!
We heard her coming up the stairs and all jumped onto the chair and hid behind the cushions, which we must admit are great abstracts - but then they are “posh” cushions from Next! Over the back of the chair is a lovely scarf that Mrs. HCB’s friend gave her for Christmas, which we thought made a lovely backdrop. We snuggled down behind the cushions and then as she walked into the room we all shouted “BOO” at the tops of our voices. You should have seen her jump!
Anyway, after a lot of chat back and forth, it was decided that we could be in the shot - just this once (ha ha we will see about that!) but she said that we had to get down behind the cushions as far as we could. Hoggy had a bit of a job at the top, so he went a bit further down and poor Snowy slipped down so far, you could only just see his red hat and he was even standing on Penny Penguin’s feet, which made her yell.
However, being the oldest and wisest, I showed my whole face, because after all, we are the stars of Silly Saturday normally and Tiny was next to me. I had to hold Tiny up though otherwise you would only have seen her hat.
So, here we are, surrounded by a tartan border in honour of the fact that Mamie and her husband Jack were from Scotland - we think they would approve. We know that Admirer, in whose memory these Silly Saturday Blips keep coming, would giggle if she could see us.
You might like to know that Mr. HCB isn’t called “Grumpy” any more - Mrs. HCB bought him some sunglasses and also some reading glasses yesterday and he was thrilled to bits - see the photograph in extras. He could read and also do his Sudoku, which is a great relief to Mrs. HCB and he even washed up the breakfast dishes this morning, so things are getting back to normal in the HCB’s house.
Of course, Mr. HCB has already warned Mrs. HCB that the Cup Final is on television later today - so what a good job he can see - however, Mrs HCB has insisted he uses the special box and just listens to it through is hearing aids. He said he doesn’t mind who wins, but their son, Martyn and grandson, Josh, have tickets to watch the actual game and Josh is a Chelsea supporter, so no prizes for guessing which team he wants to win!
Have a great weekend - the weather here is dull, cold and rainy - Mrs. HCB has put the heating on again, but please don’t tell Mr. HCB!
Love to you all from
JH Ted, Tiny, Snowy, Penny and Hoggy xxxxx
