Rural Town - San Desiderio

A lot of good blip material today, but alas... one has to decide. So, to continue a theme that is developing, here is a little rural town in the Piedmont region near to Asti. It is called San Desiderio and is where we had lunch today at the Santisè restaurant just on the border of town and on the hilltop with a great view of the surrounding valleys. I think the advertising is very low key and if you don't hear about this place from a friend it is very easy to overlook. Well, NOW, you also know about it from me - your blip friend. The waiter is very knowledgeable about foods and wine and though the atmosphere is very relaxed, we have never felt too rushed for time here. Better to slow down and enjoy the afternoon! Today we were the only ones dining with them. A nice bottle of Nebbiolo from Roberto Voerzio.... ah, could be heaven.
