Imposing Ghent

Look at that sky - rumbling away it was and then the downpour, as we scuttled to our dinner reservation, yes outdoors of course ... a powerful cocktail and a cracking curry kept us warm and cheerful.

It was a public holiday in Belgium so we went off to Ghent for a couple of days. We've decided that it's our favourite town in Belgium. I really like university towns, vibrant, full of great cheap eateries, bookshops, and the feeling that there's all that learning at your fingertips (the thought anyway!). And all that medieval splendour of course.
