Humming Along

It was a beautiful start to the day. Bright sun with lots of puffy white clouds in the sky. After a leisurely morning we headed outdoors with great enthusiasm for a productive afternoon but things didn’t go as planned • First, it was the hummer • I watched his frequent visits to the backyard feeder and knew it was an opportunity for some good photos. Blip Done • Then, we started planting a few morning glory seedlings along the fence near the street • Second, it was the neighbor • The neighbors across the street spend the winter in Florida, and had just returned Friday. The first sighting usually involves a wave to say hello, but the second sighting always leads to a long chat to catch up • Finally, back to the morning glories! Done • Third, it was Mother Nature’s turn • Those puffy white clouds were now outlined by a darker sky, growing in size and drifting east. The winds picked up and then a noticeable temperature drop. Thunderstorms had been predicted but we expected them later in the day. Disappointed, we put our tools away and returned indoors • It’s been a most unproductive day filled with distractions :)
