Steampunk

Visited the Steampunk Convention today at the Old Tucson Movie Studio Grounds. Lots of very fancy Victorian period costumes and great imaginations were in evidence. Steampunk is a literary subculture of Science Fiction set in the Victorian Era with 19th Century technology (Steam). Many of the characters there say they arrived on Space Ships.

In this photo we see some of the steam powered weapons used to vanquish ghosts, dragons, and other mysterious creatures. They all are carrying heavy duty artillery. The lady on the right has a steam powered owl.

Two groups were in attendance, The League of S.T.E.A.M. (Supernatural and Troublesome Ectoplasmic Apparition Management) and The LOSERS (League of Supremely Evil Revolutionaries).

I had great fun visiting with and photographing the participants.
