Down at the loch....
everyone had brought out their young!!! It was so good to hear the Crossbills again. They are early nesters and as soon as I entered the wood and heard an adult, I knew I would see some young. This one is perched next to an adult Siskin. Although it is multicoloured its parent male was bright red. The females are green and the youngsters not quite sure yet!!
On the loch, the goose and gander had two goslings and were proud and wary. There were Wigeon, Heron, and Mallard on the loch and fish jumping.
I got pretty wet on this walk , but elation made it all worthwhile.
Later, in the afternoon, got wet again but it was the hailstones that made it uncomfortable and not as enjoyable!
