What's the point of the weather forecast?

Today was an awful forecast so i abandoned all thought of a walk - I don't like walking in heavy showers with thunder and lightning - and I did the washing only because the wash basket was overflowing - intending to hang it indoors.
After 09:30 we never had another drop of rain so the washing got pegged out and it all dried. 
I went to 2 supermarkets earlier in the day in the belief that I'd be driest shopping!
Weather forecast hopelessly wrong yet again.
Today we have moved out of the lockdown even more despite there being an increase in cases in some parts of the country such as Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley. I hope this doesn't come back to bite us all.
Matt Hancock says that most of the people in hospital with covid, many of which are in ICUs, are people who were eligible for the vaccine but refused it.
