Our Self-Feeder

Our daughter, 12 days from 11 months old, is learning to feed herself different kinds of foods. Tonight was chicken and green beans.

Seeing her pick up a small piece of chicken, successfully making it to her mouth, and then exert in excitement, "Yum! Yum!" makes my heart smile. She reminds me to take joy in the little things...even little accomplishments.

Sometimes I get so goal oriented that completing the tasks necessary to reach that goal become meaningless. In reality, those little tasks are the crucial stepping stones to success that should be celebrated.

Today, I am thankful for the little reminder to pay close attention to the little things.
