Lambs on the bank of the Severn at Stonebench

I took a backroad from Gloucester City centre to Elmore which entailed crossing the Gloucester to Sharpness canal, which runs roughly parallel to the River Severn and this picture shows why it was needed. Even at Gloucester, where there is the first bridge over the river, the huge tidal range on the river made it very difficult for sea-going vessels to reach the port in the heart of the city. Boiats can progress inland up the river to Worcester and then can join the elaborate inland waterway network.

After a huge downpour I stopped by an old farmhouse on the east side of the river when IK saw these two lambs grazing on the lush grass in the intertidal zone. I like black sheep.
