Popped or On the Cob?

Sunny and warm today but we could use a nice steady rain. These tiny corn plants, at one of the few remaining county farms, were begging for a drink. The Grammy taxi was busy again today. After a thin bagel and sip of coffee, I was off to take Mancil for his first dental check up after getting his braces off. Like most kids, he has a few small cavities in those hard to floss areas. His parents have a rule that the kids must pay to repair all cavities. Now that’s incentive to brush thoroughly. I attended the visitation and funeral for the brother of my high school friend and bridesmaid. We have kept in touch all these years but rarely see each other because she lives in VA. This was her only sibling and both parents passed many years ago. Her hubby was just released from the hospital so she was alone during this hard time. After the service, I grabbed hubby and me lunch from the local deli. He was ready for a break from cleaning his shed and making a trip to the local trash dump. Then it was time to go to school and pick up Sky for her post surgery check up. The doctor released her; I expected a more thorough exam of the incision area. She can go back to work on light duty, no lifting. We picked up hubby who had dropped his car off for a recall repair. Then we let Sky get a late lunch before we took her home. Another long day away from home and it exhausted me. I simply do not enjoy all the traffic. Lasting friendships are one of life’s greatest gifts. I could see the sheer joy and relief in my friend’s eyes when she saw me. It had been years. Thanks for stopping by.
