Evening Flight
If I’m lucky I go out at the right time (while the dinner is on the stove) and see the birds flying home to roost. A couple of hundred or more gulls fly north to the Waimakariri riverbed and a couple of dozen starlings fly south to the Malvern Hills. They fly high, strung out in small and large groups. It can take a few minutes for them to pass, and there’s always a few stragglers. Many fly above me, but the sky is too dark straight up to get a good shot.
More birds can be seen in full screen.
