Must Be Tennis Season

I call these Osteospermum my Wimbledon flowers as they’re a Wimbledon purple and they flower throughout the Summer tennis season. I’ve just checked and the French Open starts on Sun 30th May. A lovely sunny afternoon, so I could sit in the garden and also do a few garden jobs. I was going to a photo shoot in Cromer tonight, but my back is still a bit painful as the day goes on.

Day 429 / Day 3 of Step 3 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only
Cases of the Indian variant have gone up to 2,967 cases from 2,323 on Monday (28% rise in 48 hours). Surge testing and vaccinations are now being undertaken in 6 places in England. 2,886 volunteers will be recruited for a Cov-Boost study looking at 7 different vaccines for 3rd vaccinations, which should report in Sept with initial findings. JVT said scientists are now sure that the Indian variant is more transmissible than the Kent variant, the extent will be known in the next week or two. He also pointed out that different people are responding differently to vaccination due to such as a suppressed immune system. Which tested various reusable face masks and found the Airpop Pocket performed best. MH said that the UK has donated over £0.5bn to Covax, but more importantly invested heavily in the Oxford / AZ vaccine which is available globally at cost, with no charge for intellectual property. Of the 1.5bn vaccine doses given worldwide, over 400m have been AZ in 160 countries, two thirds of which are low to middle income. Of the 67m doses given under Covax, 65m have been AZ. I agree this has been an amazing contribution by the UK. I missed that Dr Jenny Harries became Head of NHS Test and Trace in April (as well as CEx of the UK Health Security Agency) - excellent news!
