I have started a process of refurbishing some old wooden carpenters tools.
This oak jack plane is the first, made by W.M Marples & Sons, Hibernia, Sheffield.
The purchase price at the time was 21/8d, and this is still evident, written with an ink pen on one end of the plane block.
