Jake's candle

This beautiful little candle was a Mothering Sunday gift from my step-grandson Jake. He made it while "working" at a local craft shop for his work experience last week. He has always enjoyed art and crafts so it was a good choice for work experience, and he's hoping a Saturday job will develop from it. Apparently he decorated this candle by melting the very thin top layer of a paper napkin onto the surface of the candle. Clever stuff - thank you Jake!

It has been snowing hard all day today, sometimes horizontally. It is bitterly cold. Amazingly it isn't settling.
