Goslings

I went to the ponds early this morning to see if anything had hatched. I hid behind a bush when I spotted this family of Canada geese on the bank but they obligingly took to the water and then crossed the pond to give me a better view. There are seven fluffy goslings. Let's hope the foxes don't get them, the parents were keeping them close. 
Through the binoculars I could see, from up the hill, that there is still a swan on a nest on one of the tiny islands.
