Surge Testing

The only pictue I took today.   Early morning arrival at headquarters for today's campaign against the spike in Covid cases (of the variant first identified in India) in the southside of Glasgow..

Its a 3 pronged attack.  First ramping up on the vaccinations in this area, secondly keeping Glasgow at a different level of rerstrictions than the rest of us, and finally this effort to get eveyone tested.  Early indications are that its having a positive impact.

Lots of fun along the way.  Most people were more than happy to get the PCR test kits and were more than willing to take part.  Some felt they didn't need tested as they had been vaccinated  - quite a common misconception that one.   Some we had language problems with but got there in the end. And we had so many dogs greeting us at the doors theat my co-worker started offering a dog walking service as a sideline (and in case anyone from NHS Glasgow sees this - it was just a joke!).

By the way the venue here is 'The Tramway'.  Originally a depot for Tramcars, it then became a transport museum, but its now a visual and performing arts venue.  And temprarily its the Surge Testing headquarters!
