Little Land Mammal!
I was very close to this cuddly creature; better detail in large ("L").
Awww: look at its furry paws and bushy tail... *melts*
I visited Queen Square in Holborn this afternoon, and there was a lady having her lunch on a bench and dropping monkey nuts for a couple of squirrels. This one would take a monkey nut and run up a little tree behind the bench and nibble away at the pod, while the other would creep up to take a nut and then sprint off at full speed across the square either to bury the pod in a flowerbed, or to run up a tree to eat it. I commented on how calm this squirrel was, and the lady said that she fed them a few nuts every day when she had lunch, and that one was always very shy and skittish (so she'd throw its nuts slightly further away), while this one was always pretty tame and would take them from right underneath her.
Adorable: I love the way that it was keeping an eye on me (and would look straight at me from time to time), but wasn't always twitching as if it was about to run away.
p.s. Peanuts are actually legumes not true nuts (which are fruits composed of a hard shell and a seed, and which are "indehiscent" so do not split to release the seed); peanuts in a pod (a "monkey nut") are homologous to peas in a pod.
