Bees
Today is World Bees Day to remember the importance of bees for the humans. I like the variety of the bees in our garden. There are a lot of solitary bees to find.
I found some interesting fact about bees in our newspaper:
A working bee weights 0,1 gram, a queen bee weights 0,23 gram.
A working bee lives about 30-80 days in summer or 6-7 month during winter. A queen bee lives 3-4 years. She lays about 2000 eggs daily.
A bee flies in a radius of about 1-2 km daily. That's about 8000 km in her life. She pollinates 4000 flowers a day.
Bees pollinate 71% of the world's most important crops.
The economic value of pollination worldwide is 250 billion euros.
The worldwide decline in insects between 1990 and 2015 was 75%!
