Soggy
Nothing but a soggy balcony blip today. I popped out for a swift walk at lunchtime, but as it was grey and damp, there was nothing worth photographing with my phone. And I was a woman on a mission to do the circuit in less than 30 mins (I think that should be fewer, but I’m not 100% sure…I think it depends upon whether you count 30 minutes as a plural (fewer), or as some sort collective singular amount, like ‘half an hour’ (less).). Anyway, enough grammatical meanderings and no time for photography on such a walk, so this will have to do although it’s not really in focus in the crucial places. Overall, the Lewisia Tutti frutti is doing very well, though. Many more flowers than last year, and it survived the winter quite happily on the balcony. Looks like it’s a keeper.
Because I slept extremely badly on Wednesday evening, I wasn’t up for any more exercise later, although I had planned to hop on the spinning bike. Instead, I stuck at my desk and got through quite a bit of tedious work including reviewing a proposal for a publisher. I had a note on my to do list this week to try not to fritter the week away in little bits and pieces which may seem individually productive, but collectively don’t add up to much. Trying hard.
No blip on the day, as I fell asleep in front of the TV at 7.30pm, and decamped to bed as soon as the programme (Muhammad Ali in 10 pictures) had finished. Shame I missed some of it, because I find the framing of those programmes really good, and of course Ali is a fascinating, if infuriating, man.
Have we had the ‘summer’ and are we back in autumn now? If so, it seems I will never get a chance to put the summer weight duvet on the bed this year.
