Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2021 Tuesday — Wide Load

It was a “wide-load” kind of day. Mr. Fun thought so too as we traveled north to Cayucos today. We encountered this load the first time in the city of Ventura and then later after we had made a quick pit stop in the city of Buellton, we passed him again on a stretch of freeway that’s only two lanes in each direction.

We made a beeline today to the Morro Bay Veterinarian. Chloe had not been well since we left here last Thursday morning. She panted constantly, trembled or shivered (like she was cold), and screamed if I did not pick her up just right. We could not get one of our vets in SoCal to get us in.

We had a 10:15 a.m. appointment tomorrow in Morro Bay for her, but we drove right to the vets office and they took her in today. They think she had strained a muscle in her neck. So they gave her a bottle of muscle relaxer pills and a bottle of liquid pain medicine. Chloe was immediately on the mend and she continues to improve. Watching her pant with her tongue hanging out since last Thursday morning was quite miserable, not to mention very scary.

Good night from Cayucos on
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
