Every Dog Has His Day
and this is Mr Dog’s Day.
We are gathered to celebrate his 73rd birthday. The actual date is in a couple of days.
The Spring Cleaning continues in the morning while the Chef cooks and bakes. Over morning coffee we discuss the wines and cocktails to be served.
Poor Mr Dog is driving……. However, we have a bottle of pink sparkly together with a book on "Buildings In The Scottish Countryside" all wrapped as a "wee minding".
Remarkably, for Mr and Mrs Dog they arrive on time. Everybody is pleased to see everybody else, but the traditional hugging and shaking of hands is not indulged.
Today’s Blipfoto shows the table set for lunch. We are absolutely thrilled to meet again. A leisurely lunch is enjoyed
together with much pleasant conversation. We really had a great time.
Mr Dog noticed that a reordering of the pictures is taking place, including the recent gift showing a Mediterranean scene by Alan Herriot.
Mr Dog does not know who Alan is, although he is aware of many of his sculptures as I list them. I am surprised.
Mrs Dog is admiring our new bedspread and quilt. Again she is amazed at the sheer quality and skill of the ”Japan".
She then glances around and remarks that "Your place is always immaculate and dust free".
There are three reasons.
1) We change into indoor shoes when we enter the building.
2) The windows are only opened to be cleaned as we have a heat recovery fresh air ventilation system which is also filtered.
3) We clean the house ourselves.
Mrs Dog has "a lady who does". When she worked full time she spent many days attending meetings throughout the UK.
We really had a great time and we have arranged for a FaceTime Cocktail event to congratulate Mr Dog on his real birthday.
