Pond life

In February I tagged a blip of our pond with frog spawn. I was unable to follow up the BCsqM# challenge as the pond mysteriously and rapidly drained dry. We made the pond in 1997 so perhaps the liner had perished! No bother, it was ready for a renewal. Todays snap shows a brimming pond full of fresh rain water. No taddies or spawn but I hope the newts return.

I returned to swimming today, it was brilliant. Scott Hall Sports Centre is 5 mins walk away. I arrived at my appointed time, I was on the list. I was assigned a changing room & locker number, and I was away. I enjoyed being back in the water, but my R knee was stiff and I restricted my leg kicks to a gentle foot flap. I was comfortable in the slow lane.

My last swim was back in the Summer at The Jubilee Pool, Penzance. Alice B.’s Sister Avis and I always get a swim in together when I visit.

Continuing the family theme from yesterday I’d like to think that my parents gave us two 2 important life skills before we started at Mixed Infants. My Mum taught us to read, later on in life she trained as a Nursery Teacher. My Dad taught us to swim.
