Delved

Just a bit of wall where I was taking shelter under a tree, having been caught out by the intensity of the rain yet again. 

A nicely done bit of wall, that hasn’t been ruined by incongruous patching or out of area stone or technique.  

Stone likely delved from the old quarry fifty yards away. Still of  the vernacular. 

Home to lichen, mosses, voles and wrens.
