Under the moon in the garden
...the pea blossoms are glowing, and the purple salvia. The cicadas have yielded back to the crickets, as the evening's cooled down, but I heard them earlier today for the first time. They’re just gathering momentum in the trees and sound to me like odd, distant sleigh bells. Every once in awhile an alien pitch kicks in, like the whine of an electric saw blade or a fox’s snarl.
The graduation announcements I’d ordered for I. arrived today, so spent some time addressing envelopes.
Have a relaxing weekend, everyone.
