Neighbours
This is our neighbouring village, Wilsden, as seen from our bedroom window, quite a long view. Thankfully we are still separated by a decent green belt, long may it continue.
It was a relaxed start of the day for me. Tony has to level off the edge of the patio and create two holes 30cm deep for the posts of the new gate. We had forgotten that our street is built on solid rock so 15cm is what he has managed so far. A call has gone out on our WhatsApp group and two neighbours have quickly offered the right tools and their assistance so hopefully that will be done tomorrow.
We had a parkrun team meeting down in Bingley at 1pm and decided to combine it with our day's exercise, so we ran down a bit early and had bacon sandwiches outside Tarquin's before the rest of the team arrived. It was great to see everyone after all this time in lockdown and there is much enthusiasm about our return which is now scheduled for the end of June. It is essential that landowner permissions are received from all parkruns to avoid unnecessary large numbers at those with permission. We walked through the route and discussed the various issues, then as the meeting drew to a close and it started to rain, Tony and I donned our running cags and headed home.
Jen and Pete did a trial run letting the cats out for the first time when we got back. The one we thought would stay close immediately set off down the lane towards the main road, so she will be kept in awhile longer, whilst the one we expected to roam, had a wander in the neighbour's shrubbery for a while and then zoomed back to the kitchen door.
