Marmot Morning
Blue, bright and quiet...
So my day begins with a
walk through 'marmot land'

I drove to the downtown park at 7. It seemed strangely quiet for a Saturday, but this is a long weekend. People escape...people sleep in.
It seemed I had the park all to myself, except for the marmots. They were popping up all over.
I walked the Rivers Trail from the tennis courts to top of the Overlander Bridge bike path. The river glistened and the water was smooth. River levels continue to rise removing the beach as it does. One small island seems to survive the times of high water. It hosts a gnarly tree.
Riverside Park really isn't known for its flowers. I guess they are high maintenance for the city. I did manage to find a lovely cluster at the foot of a memorial tree.
My quilted heart #29 was released on a tree along the park walkway. I thank the quilt store lady for providing the batting scraps so I can make more hearts.
I was home with my second cup of coffee just after 8.
