Airport Restaurant
Everybody (except John) went out for at least one walk today. Meg and rick reported that there was a truck and a dumpster parked in front of the eyesore unfinished house, promising some clean up, but nothing much seems to have happened. We are going to report him to the county fire authorities for his unmowed field. We are hoping that will call attention to the fact that the place is quickly becoming an attractive nuisance, but at least that he will be forced to mow the tall grass.
Meg and I walked in the other direction checking the new views through newly cleared lots to the hills beyond.
By the time we got back it was time to head for lunch at the Russian River Brewing Company in Windsor on the way to the airport. We were offered a seat in the 'beer garden' for the hour wait for a table, but the dining area was so loud that we opted to go to the airport and have lunch there.
The Sonoma county airport is very small and very easy. Short term parking is very close to the terminal and free for the first two hours. It has increased the number of flights and has been rearranged a bit, but it still has its Peanuts characters* and a fairly decent restaurant.
We sat at an outside table but the wind was blowing a hoolie and the plane idling just a few feet away was blowing dust and fumes across our table so we moved inside. My blip is of the view through the conservatory style window over the bar out to the planes coming and going on the tarmac .Bad lighting but I had no other pictures .I liked the reflections in the curved glass.
I didn't have time to try to suss out what John's gloomy mood meant, though I suspect he is feeling sorry for himself. He seems to be getting around pretty well in his hiking boots and insists he isn't in pain, so I left him to it.
We said fond farewells to Rick and Meg and made our way home to Spike who was very happy beside himself to see us.
It was a wonderful visit and we talked a bit about possibilities for the future, but there are still too many variables to consider quite yet. We will certainly miss them.
