Australian common garden katydid nymph

This is the same critter as I blipped for tiny Tuesday, 27 April. Note what nearly a month of chomping on red rose petals has done for its colour. The roses are all done now and it's absorbed enough red to be perfectly camouflaged against the red edged green leaves, which as you can see have become its food source.

After the rose had finished blooming I couldn't find the nymph and feared the worst, but M found the red-legged, -notochorded and -eyed treasure for me yesterday. I was relieved.

The extra shows a side view of its translucent body.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend and stay well all.
