Droitwich brine well

Today I went over to see B and we first of all went to a nature reserve by Droitwich marina. We had a picnic by the steam there. We then continued on into Droitwich town and parked the car opposite where the canal runs, we would have walked but the canal has the M5 tunnel so we would have needed to walk along by a busy roadway. We went into Vines Park where the canal and river both flow. We discovered this brine well which is a reconstruction of one on the very spot from the 7th Century. Also, salt has been manufactured here since the Iron Age 2,500 years ago. Amazing and very interesting. On the nature front we saw some swallows diving low over the canal for insects and also a couple of adult swans with a large family of signets. See a couple more photos in extras.
