What our land is made of
I've got to dig nine holes to hold wooden poles as part of a framework to give shade in Summer. The photo shows what lurks under the surface. The steel crowbar is a combination of a bar-point off a plough (which came with the house) and a piece of thick reinforcing steel which I retrieved from under one of the bridges when the lake level was low, together now they have become quite pursuasive!
