Double Date Day

At a more reasonable hour we gathered at Ponsharden to row our new, to us, leased gig for the first time. Strong winds blowing onto the pontoon made getting out into open water a bit more challenging but we got out, rowed for an hour and came back in to put everything away.
It felt ok not to have shoes full of grit from Flushing Beach.
Home for a shower, sandwich and coffee before heading off to Falmouth Cemetery for a Commonwealth War Graves Commission tour. Although I walk there quite often I learnt a lot more today with the guide.

The main photograph is of the stone commemorating a nineteen year old Czech who volunteered to join the Polish Navy, virtually nothing else is known about him, not even why he is buried in Falmouth Cemetery.

Rowing followed by a good deal of walking, Im looking forward to a day sat on my rear in the car tomorrow.
