Rainbow
Our next door neighbour died in the early hours of this morning after several months in and out of hospital. She was 89. Her husband died some years ago, before we moved in.
She was a person who kept herself to herself and despite all that we tried we couldn’t build a relationship no matter what we tried over the years and especially during the pandemic. We’ve always felt sad about not knowing her better or being able to help . and feel it more keenly now she’s died. Her son and daughter both live in the West Country.
After Joe Wicks this morning (one of his more challenging sessions) we did our respective things. I went to the allotment dodging the heavy showers to plant out squash, courgettes, runner and French beans, summer cabbage and swede.
Our walk combined distance with errands to a couple of supermarkets to garner supplies for the visit of our friends tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
The allotment saga continues to gather pace with the creation of a website and more discussions with plotholders about strategies.
The atmosphere continues to be dynamic and querulous with impressive downpours and rattling hail. A choice of blips today with the rainbow winning.
