High Force!

This is High Force waterfall in the North Pennines AONB. 

The river Tees falls around 70 feet at this point. You can get some idea of scale by the people walking on the top. We were advised it is something to behold especially following heavy rain. Well we had quite a downpour last night so off we went today. It was well worth a visit and even the sun came out.

We followed this with a late lunch in Stanhope, a busy little market town in the Durham Dales.
