My first new cell phone!

Yes, at the ripe old age of 69 i have purchased my first cell phone!!!   I've been using my daughter's hand me downs for the past 15 or more years and that has worked well enough....but it was time!   So i drove up to Sydney today, the long weekend here in Canada, to a very empty parking lot at the mall, but Staples was open i bought it.   it is indeed a thing of beauty!!!

I just want to make note of what is happening here at Big Hill!  Terry's mom, who is 98 years old, has decided to stop eating and drinking - she has been in some pain and discomfort for a few weeks now and surgery was on the table.   But a few days ago she wrote the family an email telling us all that she has decided it is time to leave!   Wow, so big....but also so amazing and such a gift to be able to witness this passage!   We are not very comfortable talking about death, ours or our loved ones...especially our loved ones i feel...so to be able to give her the support she needs at this time of her life feels very special.   Terry is of course having a very difficult time, no matter how old we are, the passing of our mother is huge!    We had a short video call with her today...she seemed at peace and was smiling....so much to digest - but i just want to mark this day!

I'm making a lovely shrimp dish for dinner - the second glaze kiln is on and i am feeling like i'm actually ahead of the game....not a familiar feeling that's for sure.
