Cardrona Tower

I went for a walk today with T in Cardrona Forest, near to Peebles, which we chose because it was (reasonably) sheltered from the biting wind and gave us a bit of a hill to climb. There were some good views between the trees and from the high point of the walk, an iron age fort at the top of the hill. This tower was quite near the start of the walk, and dates back to the mid-late 16th century. We scrambled some way down the hillside to reach this view. There's a bit more about it on the Forestry Commission website. Later there was hail and snow, but not much more than a sprinkle - I still want some proper snow!
