Choughs

Sunrise came with the rain beating on the roof and falling like stair-rods. It was mingled with snow, but that's ok because we are at 1000m. It felt like an indoors day till about 11 when the clouds parted and we had a warm and sunny afternoon to help Movana remove the electrified fencing wire from round one of her paddocks.

During the day we were visited by a large flock of Alpine Choughs, members of the crow family, down from the high crags where they nest. Hundreds of them, quite spectacular as they wheel and dive at one another...if you go to large you may see some amongst the clouds...
