At Home: Frozen spring day....

Warm sunshine from inside. Bitterly cold outside. A frozen spring day. The spring flowers has come up and were frozen solid. The rhubarb in the garden, has bolted on in the last few days, but was frozen in time, solid leaves. I guess they must actually have some anti freeze sap to help them not be too damaged by such a random low temperature. It is random. Its cruel. Its as cruel as the fox that got into my pen last night and scratched into the small chicken pen and killed some of my hens. Random, cruel, unnecessary killing. Not eating or using the meat. Just killing for killing sake. Cruel.

Its cruel. Just as the chicks under the broody hen may suffer in extreme cold temperatures. Nature is cruel and harsh at times.
