Oh Rowan Tree.

At last !    Five or six years ago I bought a little coppiced rowan which settled down well in my front garden and grew.   Slowly.   Every year I hoped for blossom but none came.  But this year two little clusters of tight buds appeared.  And then it got very cold and snowed.  They felt crisp and papery as if the frost had got them.  However in the last few weeks I began to hope.  Today we had some sun and one or two buds opened.  Blossom at last !  Which hopefully means berries.   I can hardly wait.
