Condemned tree

These are the two gumtrees in our front garden. The tree on the right has been condemned and our local Council has approved its immediate removal. Apparently there are signs, to the trained eye, that it has already come close to breaking off about six feet from the ground. The arborist, who came to look at the huge gumtree on Estate land behind our house, spotted this one on the way out and told us we should act on it quickly. The Council is loath to give permission to remove trees but they had no hesitation about this one. Unfortunately, we will probably have to wait until early August before it can be removed. There is no shortage of work in the district for tree specialists who are prepared to scale trees in a harness in order to trim or remove them.
