Pictish Carved Slab

We headed east and the scenery became more mundane and so after a brief Osprey, the focus shifted to archaeology and more particularly Pictish Carved Stones, stones carved over a millenium ago.
There was a 'trail' created of them but like many of these things, it became more of a treasure hunt than anything else. This one was lurking inside a graveyard in a family vault with no signposting at all to help find it.
Eventually we arrived at a campsite about 10 miles from John o' Groats. Spectacular views without a huge amount of facilities.
