Railway gas light

I went on a customer visit today to collect some books I had lent her (about the local area and Hitchin to Bedford railway) when we had completed her floor renovation some weeks ago.
Very kindly she showed me round the property and the recent improvements she has made, and outside round the wrap around garden.
It’s a very old estate house, originally two cottages, and is adjacent to where the old railway line to Bedford passes by. She actually brought this converted railway gas lamp from her old house, but it fits beautifully in the garden and is quite appropriate for the location next to the old Southill Station.
