The forecast was for some good sunny weather, and we headed to Loch Lomondside (extra is of Ben Lomond over the loch), and then cut over to Helensburgh and then Rhu. We had our snack on sitting on a bench looking over Gairloch, and towards the Rhu Marina, it was very warm (whisper it...... 21C) and it was lovely to feel the sun on our skin. While we were there a Royal Navy frigate came down the Gairloch, heading for the open sea.
We had been told of an open garden at Glenarn in Rhu and headed over there and had a walk through the woodland and rhododendruns. It was lovely, although the whole of the garden was not open to the public for an unknown reason. We will go back though.
Afterwards we went into Helensburgh and sat outside at a coffee bar in the Square having a coffee. Then I left the HG reading his paper and had a look at the shops. Managed to buy some things too!
Sadly we got caught up in traffic on the way home, and it was a bit frustrating, but we got home safe after a good day out.
