King George V Park - Wall Mural
This wonderful fantastical mural in King George V Park, Eyre Place was painted in 1976 by Miguel Vivanco. I've been through the park before and didn't spot it as it's hidden behind lots of trees and bushes. Scotland Yard play park was where the trees are when it was painted. I read that it will be demolished due to the 'Newtown Quarter Project' to build housing, a hotel and retail behind the park. The inspiration behind the mural was to get children to question everything and talk about it. It's a shame it's going to be lost.
Bowls this afternoon - it didn't rain so we got through a whole match! Still on a winning streak!
