Acrobatic cardinal

I spotted this cardinal perched on a broken piece of old toy on the oak tree in the backyard where he was doing gymnastics. He was having fun, and I couldn't resist snapping his picture.

The three extra photos for today show an industrious house sparrow gathering nesting material. Hopefully his mate will be pleased with his efforts.
