Falling Branches Falls

Nearly half of the adults in the US who haven't gotten the vaccine are worried about missing work because of side effects from the shot. 25 percent of Americans might be avoiding the vaccine because they don't have paid sick leave. The gov is now reimbursing small and medium-sized employers for sick leave, taken for vaccination and for side effects, but employers don't have to offer it.

Lack of health insurance is inexcusable.
Lack of paid sick leave is inexcusable.
It was before, but the pandemic should make it clear to everyone now, but it hasn't.
On the bright side, we'll have Covid-19 for as long as it takes for us to develop either compassion or self-interest.

Today I went to Falling Branches Falls.
That sounds unsafe, doesn't it?
I did bring the tripod and the ND filter but then couldn't find what felt like a safe way to cross the stream to get the angle of shots that would justify the effort. Falling sucks for everyone, falling would really suck for me, AND I don't have health insurance right now, soooooo I played it a little safe.

I did learn today that the iPhone long exposure is about three seconds and when editing it, you can reduce that exposure.

Thank you for the advice to wear a rain hat. ;-) I don't have one, but I have a nice washable Tilley hat. Yesterday I was wearing my favorite hat, a Panama hat, made in Ecuador, as all good Panama hats are, a fact that drives Ecuadorians nuts. For the next month I think I'll wear my Tilley just in case.

I'm so glad I went to Falling Branches Falls on a weekday. These falls are so popular that you need a permit and a pass - which I did not see anywhere on the internet, only on signs once I arrived. Even without crossing the stream it was wonderful to be there.
