SYHA

I’m told that the Aberdeen Youth Hostel is to close. That’s hardly a surprise : it never appeared very busy and Aberdeen is hardly a holiday destination these days. It’s also a big building in a prime West end location so will generate some money for the SYHA.
I did a lot of hosteling in my youth and have visited hostels intermittently since. I’ve still got my old SYHA book - the blip is a page of stamps. The foreign stamps were from an Interrail holiday where we travelled to Italy via France, and then travelled to the Alps.
