Bluebells at Ross Priory
Had a wander round the grounds of Ross Priory this morning. It is located on the southern shore of Loch Lomond which you can just about see behind the swathes of bluebells and then behind that is Ben Lomond and the surrounding hills.
Dating back to 1693, Ross Priory is an example of Gothic architecture and has been owned by the University of Strathclyde since 1971 and is used for events such as weddings and conferences. The gardens are beautiful and well tended with many rhododendrons and hydrangeas in full bloom. I was touched to see a memorial behind the house to a cat named Chingley Put who died in 1883 at the age of 20, he must have been a much loved and very special cat.
