Raven
Out to Deerness and I was pleased to see that the ravens which I have photographed here before have two chicks in the air. The family were flying around and not easy to get in one shot, though there are 3 in the extras. Other interesting sights was a bonxie or great skua walking about a field probably looking for eggs to predate from curlew or lapwing, and a little tern which was joined by a second offering it fish, which is mating behaviour! The nearest colony is 15.8 km to the SW and is the most northerly in the UK. Maybe this was the first sign of that record being broken. A very cropped shot in extras.
