Synchronised swimming
A busy day, but all good, apart from the persisting neck ache and stiffness. The online supermarket order arrived early on, and by the time Jacqui (and Fletch) arrived for coffee all the shopping had been packed away. MrM had gone for a day's fishing, and Fletch, a little perturbed by his absence, kept running into the 'music room' in hope of finding him there!
Just after midday a courier arrived to pick up the mandolin destined for the USA, leaving me plenty of time for a walk in the afternoon. Went up to the Common in the hope of a photo or two of red squirrels. On my first circuit of the main path there was one in a feeder (extra), much too intent on eating to pose for its portrait! Until a barking dog approached, when it shot up the tree as fast as lightning. Second time round, from a distance I could see it perched on the feeder, but it didn't stay thanks to a dog walker shouting at his pet. Third time lucky, I thought. But the squirrel was nowhere to be seen...
Never mind, it was a lovely walk on a warm, sunny day.
So the Blip has to be two geese, a greylag and a Roman tufted goose (thanks Google!), that were perfecting their synchronised swimming routine, going round and round each other in little circles on the smallholding pond.
